Radio and Audio Stuff!
I am a huge nerd about Radio and Radio Dramas and as almost anyone I am also a huge lover of music. Here's some stuff about that! The articles might be a bit scattered, I write these as I go and will come back and edit them into something more coherent. If something looks like a pointless stream of consciousness it's because it's exactly that. If you aren't interested in learning something new that way, maybe come back later or ignore this page entirely.
Casettes? Cassettes!
Did you know that in the DACH region (Germany-Austria-Switzerland) we have a HUGE Audio Drama culture? It was especially big in the Cassette era! I still have fond memories of carrying around my casette playing radio with batteries in our garden, listening to "Die Drei ???" (The Three Investigators) while doodling or simply closing my eyes and listening to their newest misterious case. To this there is nothing that reminds me more of my childhood than the hissing sound of a tape that is about to end with the following *clack* that stopped playback and ejected the playbutton back in it's idle state.
Kassettenkinder
As stated before a lot of kids grew up with Audio Casettes, starting in the 80s. I myself am born in 1996 and basically at the tail end of the whole thing. "Kassettenkinder" is german meaning Casette Children or better Casette Kids. A nostalgic term for people that grew up with Audio Casettes and like me often still have quite the collection and very fond memories of them.
